In this vital Domestic Abuse Support Worker role, you'll provide trauma-informed, needs-led, and strengths-based support to survivors, helping them to:

Job Details:
- Job Title: Domestic Abuse Support Worker
- Location: Office Based – Barry, Vale of Glamorgan
- Salary Range: £24,000 - £26,000
- Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
- Contract: Fixed Term until March 2025, with strong potential for extension (pending funding)
What you’ll do as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker:
- Be the first point of contact for survivors, ensuring they understand their rights and available services
- Deliver immediate crisis intervention and support planning tailored to each survivor's needs and strengths
- Develop trusting, professional relationships to aid recovery and future planning
- Assist clients in navigating housing options and advocating on their behalf
- Facilitate access to other services and engagement opportunities
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, evaluating progress and adjusting support plans as necessary
What You’ll Need:
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by survivors of domestic abuse
- Experience in providing emotional and practical support, with excellent case management skills
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and a trauma-informed approach
