Are you able to support vulnerable young people across Blaenau-Gwent who have housing related support needs, including those who require support to establish and maintain a tenancy and those who are homeless?
We are searching for a Floating Support Worker - for a temporary contract until May (could go on for longer, funding dependent).
What will you do?
- Support people aged 16 - 25 across Blaenau-Gwent who are affected by homelessness and struggling to find, secure or maintain appropriate accommodation
- Undertake assessments of need in accordance with the support assessment procedure and as directed by the Projects Manager.
- Undertake risk assessments and risk management plans, including safety planning in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Work within a multi-agency settings where possible (mainly internal projects), with travel across Blaenau-Gwent
- Liaise with colleagues to provide timely, appropriate support.
- Work within the Supporting People Gateway framework, liaising with staff as required for case management and allocation.
- Deliver support and assistance to each person in accordance with the ethos, values and policies of the charity.

What do we need?
- Someone with experience in supporting people facing housing and homelessness issues.
- A driver who can get around the area.
- You will need a DBS on the update service - This is ESSENTIAL.
- A good understanding of the causes and effects of homelessness.
- Able to stay calm in a crisis.
- Good knowledge of the housing sector.
- Someone who can speak out for others and act as an advocate.
