📍 Location: Newbridge, Caerphilly
💼 Contract: 1-3 months (whilst recruiting permanently)
💰 Pay: £13.00 per hour + holiday pay (£15.10 p/hour including holiday pay)
⏰ Hours: 35 per week (Monday to Friday, 930am-500pm)
📆 Start Date: Late October 2024
About this Refuge Support Worker role:
- You’ll be working with an amazing team in Caerphilly supporting women and children who’ve been through incredibly tough times because of domestic abuse.
- Your role will be based across a cluster of domestic abuse refuges and dispersed apartments in Caerphilly, providing safety, and support, and helping women rebuild their lives.
Your focus as a Refuge Support Worker:
- Build trusting relationships and offer tailored, respectful support to a caseload of 4-5 women who have fled abusive relationships
- Carry out person-centred support planning, safety planning and risk assessments
- Collaborate with external agencies like housing services, social services, and the police
Essential Requirements:
- At least 1-year experience supporting women affected by domestic abuse or domestic violence.
- Strong ability to build immediate, trusting relationships.
- A strong understanding of risk assessments, support planning and safeguarding.
- A compassionate, solutions-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
