Job Seeking Advice

How We're Empowering Individuals With Back To Work Journeys

The path to securing a job isn't always a walk in the park.

As a specialist within social and supported housing recruitment, we've witnessed first hand the hurdles people face and the difficulties when it comes to kick-starting or re-entering their careers.

Our Moxie People bread and butter is providing our expertise to overcome barriers towards a brighter future in employment.

Ultimately, it’s not just about ticking boxes on a CV. It's about building up a killer set of skills, cultivating an abundance of confidence, finding financial stability, and being able to tackle tricky challenges head-on.

This year alone, we’ve been on a roll! We supported 126 people into roles spread across 30 fantastic businesses, and gave a boost of confidence to 195 jobseekers , making sure they felt assured in bringing their A-Game to interviews.

While we totally get the big impact we can make in the job market by connecting candidates with those hard-to-fill, people focussed roles, we also saw a chance to lend a helping hand to folks from all walks of life who were just beginning their career journeys.

The Foundation offers a chance to ignite positive change and help people enter or return into meaningful employment. After all… it’s the spark that ignited our own Moxie People journey! We believe that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstance, deserves the chance to not just find a job, but to thrive in a fulfilling career.

Et voila! Our Moxie Foundation was born.

A small act of kindness can make a big impact. The Moxie Foundation gives vulnerable, marginalised individuals the chance to receive the much needed funds towards securing employment.

Our Humble Beginnings

Fresh-faced and bushy tailed, the vision of Moxie Foundation was to extend a helping hand to as many individuals as possible, offering a £250 boost to kickstart careers to individuals who were unemployed, and actively seeking work.

Faced with the stark reality of the cost of living crisis, we soon realised that £250 wasn't enough to make the difference we had hoped. Although our intentions were good, we had to rethink our approach if we wanted to provide meaningful assistance during what can be a difficult journey.

Capes and costumes at the ready!

Now, with a commitment to creating substantial impact, we're proud to announce that we’ll be partnering with two awesome charities annually, who share our core values to strategically support individuals on their career journeys. Together, we'll provide a ground-breaking grant of £5,000 per partner, empowering two deserving individuals to navigate their unique paths towards success.

The Present Day

Our 2023-2024 Moxie Foundation Partners

We’re thrilled to draw attention to our charity partners for the upcoming year, Llamau and The Wallich. A round of applause to you!

Through these grants, we aim to light the way for two people, providing them with the resources and support needed to thrive in their pursuit of meaningful employment.

Here's Some Insight Into Our Chosen Partners

Introducing Llamau

With youth homelessness increasing at a rapid rate, Llamau’s values-led mission aims to overcome obstacles these groups of individuals are facing, with an understanding that some of these issues are far more complex than simply seeking permanent shelter.

Founded 30 years ago, Llamau has since then aided over 67,000 youth, women and children facing or dealing with homelessness. They are most known for working with Wales’ most at risk, which includes care leavers, individuals involved within the criminal justice system, those who have experienced domestic abuse and people from disadvantaged lifestyles.

Just like our values, Llamau believes everyone deserves the right to reach their full potential by offering individual support to help young people and women gain skills to live a more purposeful and independent life.

We’re so pleased to have found a partner who aligns as well with Moxie and our purpose as Llamau!

Llamau is an amazing partner for the Moxie Foundation as they’re already doing vital work to provide coaching, training and work experience to young people who have gone through homelessness. Being a part of this journey means a great deal to me, and is one of the reasons I spent so many years working in the Welfare To Work and support sectors.

And Of Course, Our Fantastic Charity Partner, The Wallich

The Wallich are a homelessness prevention charity, uniting the community together to provide hope, support and solutions to ending homelessness.

“We believe that everyone deserves the right to a home, but more than that, that everyone deserves a right to feel safe, to feel valued and to feel positive about their future.”

Their 3 mission objective is simple yet powerful when it comes to providing temporary accommodations and support services for those looking to transition out of homelessness. It empowers individuals to get back on their feet and access the right resources towards a better, more hopeful life.

  1. Get people off the streets

  2. Keep people off the streets

  3. Create opportunities

This has resulted in the charity providing accommodation and support to around 9,000 people each year and a multitude of fundraising projects across the country.

Don’t forget to read about the collaborative work The Wallich are doing with Invisible Cities, training people affected by homelessness to become walking tour guides in their cities and breaking stereotypes.

The team at Moxie loved our guided tour by John, learning so many interesting facts about our city centre in Cardiff.

The Moxie Foundation will help break down barriers: not just through providing the financial means to unlock potential, but by showing a genuine interest in individuals and giving them the belief to build a successful career. We are thrilled to be part of an exciting partnership with Moxie Foundation and look forward to seeing the impact the grants will have on the people we support.
