Building Brighter Futures: About Our Grant Winner In Partnership With The Wallich

Drumroll please…

The applications have been flooding in, and through the support of our partnered charity The Wallich, we’re happy to announce that we have selected this year’s Moxie Foundation grant winner.

We’re all about breaking barriers and doing all that we can to provide support to as wide a demographic as possible, not just those already working or candidates with specific skill sets and experience. After all, we know that employment has the power to transform lives for the better!

Whether that’s helping to turn business plans into a thriving career, or supporting people to gain the right qualifications to upskill in a sector they already love, we’re proud at Moxie to partner with organisations that are going the extra mile to help people in our communities make meaningful, positive impacts.

Here’s a quick recap of our mission if you’ve missed our previous blog: How We’re Empowering Individuals With Back To Work Journeys

How It All Works

Each year, we partner with two incredible organisations or charities which receive a total grant of £5,000 each. This funding is used to kickstart people’s back-to-work journeys, or to support individuals wanting to set-up their own businesses.

Once we’ve shortlisted potential partners who share our passion and received applications from those engaged with their services, these are presented to the Moxie Foundation board which decides on who will receive that year's funding.

This year we're teaming up with two amazing homelessness prevention charities Llamau and The Wallich.

We've been blown away by the standard of applications sent to us through our charity partners. It’s been fantastic to see how much enthusiasm there is in Wales from budding entrepreneurs to those looking to kickstart their careers or gain additional qualifications to better their opportunities for employment.

We were already such big admirers of The Wallich before partnering on the Moxie Foundation grant. Their work tackling homelessness in Wales is incredible, championing similar values to what we have at Moxie. We’re very excited to be helping our grant winner alongside them this year

Powerful Partnerships: Working With The Wallich

The Wallich are a support and prevention charity dedicated to addressing homelessness in Wales, creating opportunities for people to get back on their feet and thrive. With three core objectives:

  1. Getting people off the streets

  2. Keeping individuals off the streets

  3. Creating Opportunity

The Wallich are passionate about creating a community where everyone feels safe, valued and hopeful about their future.

The BOSS Project: Unlocking Potential

The Wallich have set up an incredible initiative called the BOSS Project (Building Opportunities, Skills & Success,) a programme designed to encourage and support individuals with offending backgrounds, discover and nurture hidden talent to lead fulfilling lives.

For individuals in South Wales prisons or those on probation, the BOSS Project offers a lifeline, providing stability, help, and a pathway to employment. Grounded with a trauma-informed approach, the project aims to boost confidence, enhance skills and foster a positive mindset.

From funding qualifications to peer mentoring and in-work support, the project gives participants the tools they need to rebuild their lives and career aspirations.

It’s easy to see how our values align with the Wallich’s mission, and that’s exactly why we’ll be partnering with them to support this year’s grant winner with their packing and removals business. Advance Removals.

It's a privilege and a pleasure to support an individual with lived experience of the criminal justice system back into stable and fulfilling employment.
